After missing nine games due to a hamstring injury, 33 year old Centerman and Alternate Captain, Jason Spezza, will suit up for a tilt against the New Jersey Devils. After being depleted by injury through the first month of the season, Spezza’s return will allow Stars head coach, Lindy Ruff, the chance to inject a veteran presence back in to his lineup. The Dallas Stars have been able to sputter along in a less than impressive fashion with a 6-6-4 record and are currently staring down a -11 goal differential so far this season.
Dallas has been able to cling to life early in the standings so far after helping hands from the likes of Devin Shore, Gemel Smith, and Adam Cracknell. However, the Stars will certainly enjoy having the man who has recorded 130 points in 166 regular season games with the club.
Spezza has played nine games for Dallas so far this season, registering 4 goals and 5 points. The Stars enter tonight’s game against New Jersey going 2-1-2 in their last 5, and 3-2-3 in November.
