Per CBSSports, Dallas Stars centerman, Cody Eakin, will be out for an estimated 6 weeks with a knee injury suffered in the first day of training camp. With Eakin now out, the Stars lineup down the middle is getting pretty thin, if not non-existent.

“In all of the years, I’ve never seen anything like this,” Ruff said. “It’s going to make it hard on lineups here, we’re going to get pretty thin, especially down the middle.”

With Tyler Seguin already out from an injury from the World Cup, Faksa leaving the World Cup Tournament as well with concussion-like symptoms, Ruff will have some interesting line combinations to construct.

Eakin, 25, finished his 2015-16 season with 16 goals and 35 total points, good for 8th on the Stars roster.
